Sassy Cassi

Just some new pics of Cassidy from my phone...notice they all have a blurry spot!

Rockin' the shades!

Playing on her slide, being her usual ornery self.

Covered in Cottage Cheese!
*Funny Story about Cottage Cheese...Apparently Cassidy loves cottage cheese. Last night at dinner I was feeding her and I had a spoonful of corn. Cassidy shakes her head and looks at her plate...I try again with the corn...she shakes her head...then again, so finally I dump the corn off and pick up the cottage cheese-she's happily eating! Later when Myles was eating, she wanted back up to the table of course, so I put her up there with her plate again. I come back in 5 minutes and she had completely ate all of the cottage cheese and scooted the corn and rice off to the verrry edge!
**PS. she didnt look like this when she ate cottage cheese last night! None of it went to waste!

Restaurant Review: -5 stars.

Wendys in Fairfield.
The worst Wendy's I have ever been to in my LIFE!

First of all its 90+ degrees outside, and they have NO air conditioning...the employees are soaked with sweat, the butter for the baked potato's is melted in the container, the atrium is emitting waves of heat into the restaurant, and only 1 ceiling fan works.

Second, I only went there because I wanted to try their asian boneless wings...They gave me a spicy chicken sandwich. Luckily Natalie switched me and I still got to try them.

Also, They had a senior citizen bingo game going on and there were 3 open tables left, each seated 4 people, we had 6. The other open table is all the way across the room (next to the atrium putting off heat).

And Ellen and Natalie both got salads and they were slimy! UGH! BLECH!

On the plus side, WENDY was there, she was calling the bingo game! (the manager's name was also Wendy, which I thought was pretty funny)

*Funny Story* They were sitting there calling bingo letters...B6....G19....etc....I12...Cassidy says "EYE, EYE" and shoves her french fry in her eyeball. I guess she was paying attention.

How old am I again?

I got a letter in the mail the other day from my bank....

Dear Emily J Brown

It is that time: you are going to be turning 23 soon....

I really do forget how old I am sometimes because I just throw out a general age. So I start doing the math, 2009-1985=24.

Mmmkay then. Obviously they have an error in their system.

Emma's Cure-All

Myles has an earache today, and obviously Emma is an earache expert. This was their conversation this morning on the way to Ellen's...

E: Do you still have an earache, Daddy?
M: Yes
E: Well, I know how to fix that! You want me to tell you how?
M: Yes, Emma, tell me how to fix it.
E: Lets go home and find you a fruit-flavored popsicle, that always make my earaches go away!

Apparently fruit-flavored popsicles, not just any kind, will cure all that ails ya!

Good Weekend

This was a busy weekend. Friday, I had to get stuff to make some cakes, and peanut butter brownie pie. I'll post recipes at the bottom. Saturday was my grandparents 60th anniversary celebration at my mom and dads house. We got to see a lot of family that I havent seen in a while. There wasnt quite everyone there, but about half of us makes a big crowd. After the party, mom watched Cassidy so that Myles, Emma and I could go to the river with everyone. We had a good time.

On Sunday, Emma and Cassidy went with Myles' mom and dad to a church swimming party, so we went to the river, of course, without kids. It was pretty interesting. We suprised the guys by painting the picnic table, I'm pretty sure they didnt think we could. Mona dug out some paint from the camper and we used rags and paper towels to "brush" it on. Now it a beautimus shade of periwinkle, lol. Stands out like a beacon, I'm sure. Then some weirdo's decided to "break down" right in front of our camp sight when the guys were all on the river. We decided it had to have been planned. Heather sent out an SOS, NOT THAT THE GUYS NOTICED!!! We could've been abducted! They eventually moved on past us without any problem. Then after we left, we seen cop lights up ahead and was sure Myles and the guys had gotten busted, luckily it wasnt them, just the extremely messed up neighbor, poor guy! They had three cops cars and animal control there by the time it was said and done. Glad it wasnt us though!

Peanut Butter Brownie Pie

Betty Crocker, Betsy Ross, and the rest of us Domestic Legends

Natalie and I have officially finished a project, OK more like part 1 of 4 projects, but still. The other day I may have had the bright idea to make the girl's some dresses. I mean really, how hard could it be? So off we (Ellen, Natalie, and I) go to Wally World to pick up some fabric, etc. We started them Monday night and last night.....WE FINISHED ONE! I cannot emphasize that enough. We are making the little girls dresses first

This picture is really blurry, A- because it was taken on my cell phone and B-because I have a small child who throws my phone down all the time and there is a scratch on my camera lens.
The top and bottom are white eyelet lined with white cotton. There is an eyelet ruffle on the sleeves edging a red bandanna print skinny strap. The sash around the middle is red bandanna print that ties in a bow in the back. Its very "flowy", if those girls could twirl, their skirts would go way out.
It wasn't quite as easy as we thought it would be, but after we ripped out a couple seams or 20, we finally figured it out. And when afterthoughts, such as a ZIPPER, were added, they were a heck of a lot easier to get on. :)
Now Kaden says he wants a suit....yeah no problem, we'll just whip that up!
Also we went to Ellen's last night for our weekly dinner. Awesome food!
Grilled Pork Chops
Mixed Veggies (no, not your mamas mixed veggies, these are spicy, savory goodness)
Macaroni and Cheese
Hot Rolls
Homemade Cherry Pie (Ellen, you are the pie goddess) No Pie Filling here, from Scratch!
The kids terrorized her puppies...They might live....

Home Runs and Dog Pregnancies

Emma had a t-ball game yesterday. I always ask her if she is going to hit a home run, and of course, she always says yes. (We do this because Emma has to mentally prepare for everything and its easier if I start psyching her up ahead of time, then by the time we need to leave she's finally ready to go out the door) Anyways, so Emma always says she is going to hit a home run. She usually get at least one hit off of a pitch rather than the tee but yesterday...She crushed it! She had to use the tee the first inning and the second inning, second pitch and it flew over the pitchers head (coach). And she is a tall lady, much taller than me! Emma was very proud! AND she was the last batter so she got to run all the way around the bases....like a HOME RUN! I tell you what, it doesn't get much better than that.

The first inning, when Emma was up to bat, I hollered a reminder to keep her bat up. She has a tendency to let it fall down on her shoulder and then when she swings, she has to pick it up and then swing. When she keeps it up, it makes for a faster and more fluid swing...anyways, She looks over at me and nods....Then she keeps looking...So I holler "watch the ball, Emma"...She nods and...keeps looking at us on the bleachers...So again, "Watch the ball, Emma"...and she nods and keeps looking...Finally, "EMMA, LOOK AT YOUR COACH!"... Oh, she says and proceeds to pay attention! My child some days...!

Later, when we got home, Emma was outside playing and all of a sudden, she runs inside and says (in her 'I'm a thirteen year old', very important, bouncy cheerleader voice) , "Mom, you have GOT to see this! Sassy has BOOBS! She's going to have puppies!" To which I reply, "What, Nuhhuh!" Emma says "Yes, HUH! I think shes PREGNANT!" So off we go outside, Emma grabs her and flips her over like shes gonna hog tie her and points at her belly, "SEE MOM, BOOBS" "Emma," I say, "Everything has boobs!" Just because you can see them doesn't mean she is PREGNANT!"

Oh man, sometimes I don't even want to begin trying to understand the way that girl thinks.

Entering the blogging world...one step at a time

Well, I have decided that people might be interested in our lives. Or like me they just want to keep updated on others, without being too intrusive (a kind way of saying...NOSY). Anyways, I have thought about keeping a blog, however dull it may be, and today, I venture forth.
